88The Military Engineer l November-December l 2009 SAME Website Redesigned In December, SAME will begin unveiling its new website. Located at www.same.org, the revamped site will feature more timely news items addressing the industry and SAME. As part of the redesign, infor- mation from SAME News, the Societys member newsletter, will be moved to the website and the newsletter will be sunset. This transition will allow SAME to pro- mote industry-related news items and SAME activities to a broader audi- ence in a timely more manner. The new website will feature: • In the Field. This section will show- case the myriad workshops, meet- ings and events of SAME and its members in a photo-and-caption format. • Post Notes. As it has in SAME News, this feature will highlight events of note, such as industry days and well-known keynote speakers, held by SAME Posts. The transi- tion from a newsletter format to a web-based one will allow SAME to continually showcase Posts with- out space or time constraints. • Industry News. Items of interest impacting the A/E/C industry— both in the public and private sectors—will now be published on the SAME website, providing members with instant access to top stories. • SAME News. Board actions, dues changes and other news items will be displayed, al- lowing members to get more timely information on the happenings of SAME. • Upcoming Events. Events of note will be listed so visi- tors to the site can quickly see topics, dates and locations of upcoming events. • Social Media Links. SAME is work- ing diligently to use various social media to reach our members. As such, quick links will be placed the homepage to allow visitors to ac- cess these important tools easily. • TME. SAMEs premiere publica- tion, TME magazine, will now be featured more prominently on the home page. This will enable cur- rent members and advertisers as well as prospective members and advertisers to access the informa- tion contained in TME. In addition, TME Online, the interactive PDF, will remain open to the public. The redesigned SAME website will also feature extensive sharing capabili- ties. A link at the top of each page will allow site visitors to share the informa- tion contained on the page via e-mail or numerous social media networks, by printing it to paper or by downloading it in PDF format.
