The Military Engineer L No. 66379 SAME Career Membership for Uniformed Service Members Effective immediately, uniformed service members may join the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) for a one-time rate of $60 and enjoy the many bene?ts of SAME member- ship for the duration of their careers in the uniformed services. Eligible service men and women include active duty, and participating guard and reserve who serve in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Public Health Service. All current SAME members in the uniformed services will automatically transition to a career membership Jan. 1, 2010, at no additional cost. The new membership provides a ca- reer-long series of opportunities to: s network with leaders of the uniformed services and industry at national and local conferences and events; s interact with members of all branches of the uniformed services to become better educated on joint engineer op- erations; s gain valuable training and receive professional development hours through SAME topic-speci?c work- shops on LEED, design-build, project management, and construction and facility management; and s receive discount registration fees for SAME events as well as discounts on events and certi?cation programs offered by our strategic partners, in- cluding the Construction Manage- ment Association of America and the International Facility Management Association. In addition, civilians employed by a uniformed service will be eligible for a three-year membership for $45, or a ?ve-year membership for $60, begin- ning Jan. 1, 2010.
