The Military Engineer L No. 66579 Command Sergeant Major Michael L. Buxbaum United States Army Corps of Engineers Command Sgt. Maj. Michael L. Buxbaum became the 10th Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on April 29, 2008. Command Sgt. Maj. Buxbaum serves as the senior non-commissioned officer for the command and senior enlisted advisor to the U.S. Army Chief of Engineers. Prior to assuming his duties at USACE, he served as Command Sergeant Major, 18th Engineer Brigade, V Corps, Heidelberg, Germany. Other Command Sergeant Major assignments include the 130th Engineer Brigade, V Corps, Hanau, Germany; the 54th Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Mechanized), 130th Engineer Brigade, Bamberg, Germany; and the 41st Engineer Battalion, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y. Command Sgt. Maj. Buxbaum is a native of Manitowoc, Wis. He joined the Army as a combat engineer in September 1978 at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas. Force Master Chief Michael E. Holdcraft Naval Facilities Engineering Command As Force Master Chief Petty Officer of the Seabees, FORCM Michael E. Holdcraft is responsible for ensuring that Seabees deployed in more than 60 countries on five continents have adequate living quarters, available food service, and the proper manning, equipment and training from the Naval Construction Force and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. FORCM Holdcraft is the senior enlisted advisor to the Navys Chief of Civil Engineers and has an additional duty assignment with the Commander, 1st Naval Construction Division. In his previous assignments, he served as Command Master Chief of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 74 at Gulfport, Miss., Amphibious Construction Battalion 2 at Little Creek, Va., and the 30th Naval Construction Regiment at Port Hueneme, Calif. FORCM Holdcraft is a graduate of the Recruit Training Command in San Diego, Calif., the Naval Construction Training Center in Port Hueneme, Calif., and the Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, R.I. He is qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist and a Master Training Specialist. Chief Master Sergeant Patrick D. Abbott Office of The Civil Engineer, U.S. Air Force CM Sgt. Patrick D. Abbott is the Chief, Enlisted Matters, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Office of The Civil Engi- neer. In this role he advises the Air Force Civil Engineer on matters affecting the civil engineering workforce with specific emphasis on readiness, morale, retention, training and work force utilization. He serves as the functional manager for all enlisted and wage grade civilians in civil engineering. CM Sgt. Abbott chairs the Air Force Civil Engineer Chiefs and Airmens Councils to review issues affecting the workforce, communicate ideas and develop recommendations for senior leadership consideration. Since enlisting in the Air Force in October 1984, CM Sgt. Abbotts background includes various construction and maintenance duties in Civil Engineering as well as assignments at the Wing and Headquarters level. Master Gunnery Sgt. Jeffrey T. Griffin U.S. Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sgt. Jeffrey T. Griffin, USMC was assigned as the Assistant Occupational Field Sponsor for Marine Corps Engineers in August 2008. Since 2003, Master Gunnery Sgt. Griffin has served three deploy- ments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, most from 2006 to 2007 as a Construction Officer with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. He previously served as the Company 1st Sergeant for the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Education Program and prior to that as an instructor at the Marine Corps Engineer School at Courthouse Bay, N.C. Enlisting in the Marine Corps in November 1984, Master Gunnery Sgt. Griffins personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commen- dation Medal (second star in lieu of third award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (third star in lieu of fourth award).
